I Am Warm and Normal for My Upcoming Exhibition
Warm and Normal 2025. Acrylic on cardboard, 14 x 11"
I believe my philosophy is anarchism, which is a really loaded word in the United States. Mainly because our people are easily swayed by propaganda, of all stripes—whether they’re being told what politics are acceptable, or the right toaster to be seen with in their kitchens. I am a Henry Thoreau-[David Graeber[(https://davidgraeber.institute/) type of anarchist, but that wouldn’t matter to the hoards. They just assume I’m gonna throw a molotov cocktail at an Apple® store, because most Americans are dangerously lazy stupid. Don’t believe me? Check out this Pew Research poll taken back in 2010 about the second coming of Christ.
We are separated from the rest of the world by “ignorant arrogance”, and its only gonna get worse. One nation of people cannot hoard 25% of the earth’s resources without a banging cognitive dissonance. The empire is dying, the desperation is obvious. I just hope and pray the powers that be don’t take all of life to the grave with it.
So “warm and normal”, what about it?
This year our government outlawed Tik-Tok because it was showing college kids getting tear-gassed and beaten by cops for protesting Israel’s genocide upon the Palestinian people. I heard about “Red Note”, the Chinese version of “Instagram” and joined up immediately, in protest. I was never a fan of Tik-Tok, but I did go there to see the news in real time, what the corporate TV, radio and Internet were refusing to report on. I got an account on Red Note and began to post my paintings. A follower there wrote that she liked my art enough to do a thorough Internet search on me. She concluded that I was (in translation) “warm and normal”.
Love it.
So I am using her words for my upcoming exhibition of free paintings in Lincoln, UK.
