Competition 06 "WATER DROPS" | Remaining raindrops on the leaves of a frangipani flower
Hello everyone..
To get the artistic value someone tries to do it intentionally is creativity, and the natural things that are obtained are also included in it. I did not wait for the rain to fall, but the traces of rainwater after a few hours have helped me get interesting water drop objects. Water droplets stick to the leaves and branches of frangipani flowers in my small yard.
Waiting for the rain to stop for several hours, then preparing my smartphone camera is a common thing for me as a student or beginner photographer in the hope of getting something interesting from the water droplets that stick to the leaves and branches of the frangipani flowers.
At first I thought I could shoot and get maximum results for several photos of the same object with my Oppo A18 smartphone camera. Yes! this is not beautiful after several others I had to throw away because the images were blie and not detailed when I zoomed in close range. That's disappointing!!! because the main lens of my smartphone camera is only 8MP or 2.0 and for portraits only 2 MP or 2.4, for shooting close-up objects and details such as water drops is less suitable.
The exact same water drop object in several photos stored in my smartphone memory, some of these photos I shot on February 23, 2025. Yes! February Our country is still in the rainy season as a tropical country with two seasons, namely the rainy season and the dry season.
The problem! My wife and I don't even know the name and the ins and outs of this type of "flower" plant, we really have a hard time detecting it even though it looks like it's growing well without flowers except for the purple leaves covering all its branches.
Water drops are not formed in the same size because water droplets can occur due to condensation or evaporation and are also produced by air pressure or cold naturally. Exploring photography objects such as water droplets naturally without a touch of creativity is certainly lacking in charm and beauty. However, how an ordinary photo can be changed to be more interesting and beautiful and of high artistic value is certainly a photographer's creativity and supported by an adequate camera lens. Not just shooting, because that's something ordinary.
