Fight or Fade Away: Would You Survive the Undead or the Empty World?

This question topic actually makes me laugh to some extent because it crosses my mind every time I watch a zombie movie, I do imagine what if such thing happened and we enter the survival mode against zombie, how will life be, what will you do, will you kill or be killed, do I even have any surviving skills. Having watched many zombie movies, they always start with one failed experiment. The world is at peace first and some people driven by greed or ambition unleash chaos, this zombie curse (as I call it) spreads faster than anyone can imagine or you are in a scenario where you wake up one morning and found out that everyone is dead and you are the only living being on earth how will you feel.

During a zombie outbreak, the first stage brings fear and confusion, people run in every direction, trying to grab whatever they can take before running away from the town, also some trying to stock up their house with suppliers so they can barricade themselves indoors while waiting for the next thing to do. If I found myself in this situation, these would be my first steps, survival instinct will kick in and securing things like foodstuff, drinks, water will be my priority then I can look for a place which will be my safe haven, some people do choose high rise apartment because they think it will take a while for this dead walkers to reach the top but in my case, I would prefer an underground bunker, have never come across one before but I will have to find one because it is the safest as long as I have enough supplies that will last me for a long time, a bunker that won't be easy to break in and sometimes I think it might be easier to survive alone so the supplies can last longer and there won't be any disagreement but with what I have seen so far in movies, it is not good to be alone in this kind of situation.

In The Walking Dead, people survive more as a team because at some point they get to fight two wars at the same time, the zombie war and the other communities wars. The whole scenario is always survival of the fittest just like in the Walking Dead were some communities were raidng other weaker community safe zones especially if those people are safe from zombies, they kill each other instead of teaming up just to fight the zombie war and be safe together. One more important aspect is to learn how to adapt to new situations and also develop fighting skills because it is needed. Now imagine you are the last living person in the world, well it is actually the safest but you have to fight loneliness, introverts might survive to some extend since they are already use to it, no one to disturb or distract you, you get unlimited access to resources, free accommodation, food and more.

But at some point, you will realize that companions are important because we are not meant to be alone, you need someone to talk too, you will get stress mentally, emotionally. I a movie where a man was the only living being, he was happy at first but got tired of it, he started drawing humans on board to talk to, made figurines, gave them names and the worst part, animals became his friends, at some point, he fell ill and there was no one to care for him, no doctors or nurse around. Now If I had to chose between zombie apocalypse or the only living person on the planet, I would choose solitude and not a zombie world. I don't have to be at alert all the time, I get to sleep when I want (people sleep less during zombie era)
