Golden greetings everyone. How are you all doing?. I'm excited to participate in the contest by @musa-gold on sharing our knowledge about gold. I just say, it's a very unique contest. Without further ado, I'll go into the business of the day.

When i think of Gold, I think of wealth, riches, power.
Gold in its raw form is not shiny at all. It is usually muddy. After going through various procedures, it is cleaned and becomes shiny, something we all admire.
This can also relate to us. We have something unique inside us. Though we may be in our raw forms now, unprocessed, looking rough, but after we've gone through a few tough times, everyone will see how much we carry and how valuable we are.
Gold is a very valuable asset, as a matter of fact, it is one of the most sought after valuables in the world today.
It's not just about how rare it is to get, or how expensive it is. It how it's sparkly, shiny and doesn't rust or get tarnished. It's resell value is high which is why i call it an asset. If i buy gold today, the price I'll sell it in the next few years will not be the same. I'll sell it for a higher price because the price of gold is increasing everyday.
50% of consumption of gold by people in the 21st century is used to make jewelry.
There are various uses of gold in the world today, some of us think it's only used for jewelry but I'm here to educate you. I hope you have a lovely read.

Other ways gold can be harnessed

🌟 Astronauts use gold to protect themselves from the sun's infrared rays. The put a thin layer of gold in their helmet which serves as protection.
🌟Gold is used for investment. Anyone can buy a large amount of gold and store for future trading. This is a very profitable business as the gain is mouth watering.
🌟Gold serves as decoration in important buildings like museums, houses owned by wealthy people, e.t.c They usually secure it tightly in a wall where people can admire without touching.
🌟Gold is used to input processing chips on motherboards. It can be found on devices like laptops and computers because it allows the device to receive and send data easily. Research shows that in most electronic gadgets, a tiny piece of gold is found inside.
🌟High end beauty care industries like Dior use gold in their skin care production. A moderate amount helps in anti aging and maintaining the skin gold, this is why some of those products are very expensive.
🌟Gold can be used as collateral for a loan. In some countries like Nigeria, gold can be used to get a loan. When the loan is paid, you get your gold back.
🌟 Traditionally, the Chinese use gold to cure various illnesses like skin infections, seizures, e.t.c. While the general medicine practitioners use it to make gold plated stents used for treating heart diseases.
In the next few years, as technology is evolving, i believe we'll discover more ways to harness the rich properties of gold. These uses are just the ones we've found out for now.

Personal thought

I'd love to own at least 1 gold jewelry. I want to experience how it is to wear something an unique and expensive as gold.
As much as i want gold, there are some lengths i can't go just to get it.
Writing this just reminded me of a story i read in a book when i was younger.

A poor man's daughter lied to the king that his daughter could spin straw into gold. The king was amazed because he hadn't heard anything like it before. He then decided to marry her if she could spin the straw to gold.
The king gave her a big sack of straw to spin on her first night in the palace. She was distraught. She didn't know what to do. A funny man came along and offered to help. His condition was that she'll give him her first born child. She had no choice than to agree. He helped her turn the straw to gold and the king paid her bride price and married her. When she gave birth, the funny man came back for the baby, she had to guess his name so she won't give up her baby.
She guessed his game and the funny man left in shame.

From the story, we could see that the father's greed for gold from tha king made him lie to him about her spinning skills and send his daughter off, just because he needed the money from the King.

Things to note when buying gold

Gold comes in different grades. It is measured in Karat. We have the 24K (pure gold), 22K, 18K, 14K, and 10K. The numbers represent the amount of gold present out of 24. Endeavor to have your gold tested with the machine before leaving the store. This machine is called the gold testing kit , it is very durable and it shows the level of pure gold present in a jewelry.

Conclusion

Gold is driving people crazy these days, people want a fast way to get rich. Robbers steal from gold stores and from people that wear gold. The ones who want it in a larger quantity go in search of lands that have gold and begin the golden search. Some people lose their lives along the way, some end up wasting years digging, just to find nothing.
I'm not trying to discourage us but in everything we do, let us remember that Gold is good but let it not drive us to do the unthinkable. Let it not push us to commit social vices just to get it.
And to those who have gold, know the value of what you have before you lose it.
