Not all the body is flesh… No, not all.
What to say of the neck, sometimes marble,
sometimes linen, lake, tree trunk,
cloud, or bird, always elusive to the touch...?
And the belly, as insubstantial as mud...?
And the warm lattice of your arms?
No, my love... Not all the body is flesh:
it is also water, earth, wind, fire...

It is, above all, shadow at farewell;
a wave of stone with every return;
in memory's park, the fleeting
figure of Spring in the heart of Autumn...
Not only flesh makes up this prison,
for within your body exists the entire world!
