That lovely rustic feel of Thasos - Imprinted by LightCaptured

in WORLD OF XPILAR13 hours ago

Thasos, that beautiful Greek island, is not one of those luxurious destinations where you have to have the income of Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie in order to have a proper summer vacation.

Well, there are still a few resorts there on the high end for those who love to sink into luxury.

That isn't the most important about the island.

One of its qualities, of course, that is totally subjective and coming from me, is that it feels a bit... rustic.

That, of course, is totally in the positive meaning of the word.

I wouldn't say simple but it feels just right.

For instance, the olive trees next to the sandy beaches.

Houses, "resting" on silent green hills.

Many places to sit or stand in solitude and observe the sea...

The biggest road on the island is that on the forth picture below.

You get where I am going. Almost everything here feels cozy, warm, hospitable.

Plenty of free beaches and then the paid beaches are not too pretentious or demanding.

When I go to summer vacations in my country, most of the times I feel like I am treated as a "walking wallet", someone who is supposed only to pay big bucks and do not expect much or complain.

At the most summer vacation places in Greece I went, I feel relaxed and I know I will have good time. Yes, more expensive but worth it.

Moreover, this equipment at the last two photos - I am sure other countries have it too and it is great to see such one at a beach that isn't a part of a huge sea resort...

So much has been done so people feel right here. No wonder the island, and the country in general it is a top summer vacation destination.
