I don't know what plant it is. I saw it on one of my walks. It was drying out, perhaps from lack of water. But what caught my attention were the dried flowers, although it was more like the remains of the flowers.

I'm imagining that it's a plant similar to dandelions, which release their seeds and leave the stalk where the flower grew and was pollinated.

I immediately captured the contrast of beautiful brown and orange tones against the gray background of the rest of the drying plants. I proceeded to photograph them from various distances, though always very close.

Here's a close-up of what I believe are the seeds that haven't yet emerged from the flower. They're pointed and look like capsules, ready to burst.

This shot captures the wider scene of the cluster of flowers standing out against the background; nature truly surprises us with beauty in the least expected places.
