Third Time’s the Charm: My Best Starter Pack Yet

Opening a Starter Pack has become my weekly ritual. Each time, I hope for something special, but this week’s pull blew me away. With my balance sitting at over 339 NOVA tokens and a mining power of 482/day, I decided to grab another Starter Pack for 320 STEEM (down from 400).

Transferring funds from my wallet was quick—I sent 320 STEEM to @cryptid.pay and watched my balance drop to 540 STEEM. But with this pack promising 10 Hunter Packs plus advanced rare and normal enhancers, I had high hopes.

From the very first flip, the excitement hit. Out popped Helios, a Legend card unlike anything I’d seen.

This majestic deer-like creature with shimmering antlers and a blue mane shines in more ways than one. Helios boasts 520 NOVA/day mining power at Level 1—huge compared to the 234/day I’d been getting from my Unique cards. Seeing that golden frame appear instantly made the pack worthwhile.

But Helios wasn’t the only headliner. This pack also delivered two new Unique cards: Cybremong, a cybernetic monkey with a glowing cannon arm (180 NOVA/day), and another Crogle, the fiery bird I’ve grown to love. Having Crogle and Cybremong join my lineup gives me multiple unique options for future upgrades. Their fiery wings and metallic limbs look even better in person.

The rest of the packs served up a mix of Rare and Normal cards that round out my collection. I scored several Jellyflowers, each mining 35/day; Thundercat, a neon feline crackling with electricity; Razar, the tough boar with an attitude; Dra-Q, the bat with sleek wings; and Atummus, a nimble critter who swings a staff. These Rares aren’t just for show—each adds 35 NOVA/day to my total. Meanwhile, repeats of Magicpeng, Onionmantis, Bullet, and Hamlictria provide valuable material for synthesis and upgrades. I even pulled duplicates of Magicpeng and Jellyflower, which will come in handy when I decide to level up my rares.

With Helios, Crogle, and Cybremong now in my deck, the landscape changes. I might need another slot soon, but for now I’m planning how best to use the five advanced rare and five advanced normal enhancers that came with this pack. I can’t wait to upgrade Helios or see if Cybremong can become a Level 2 powerhouse. Either way, this Starter Pack has pushed my mining power further than any before.

It’s the thrill of discovery and incremental progress that keeps me invested. Every new card—especially a legend like Helios—opens up strategic possibilities and reminds me why I love this game. I’m already looking forward to next week’s pack to see what surprises await.
