Arkhangelskoye

Sokolsky district of the Vologda region is ideal for me for night trips – there are many different small rivers with bridges, ancient architecture and almost every village has dugouts. There were none in Arkhangelskoye...

Arkhangelskoye is a village in the Sokolsky district of the Vologda region.

I go straight to the bridge and hear someone splashing in the water. At first it seemed that there was a dog wandering there...Then I thought maybe ducks...there are still some strange sounds, either squeaking or rumbling...

There were thoughts that it was actually a man rinsing something in the river. I even took a picture on my smartphone, because my eyes haven't adjusted to the dark yet, and the camera sees better.

But they turned out to be my banal beaver friends. I don't know what they were doing there, but after I was discovered, they fell silent.

And then, according to tradition, I was sprayed with water from the river using their tail.

There is a large stone church in Arkhangelskoye, or rather even two...the second one is slightly smaller.

And they stand in different places of the village, which, by the way, is divided in half by some river (I did not find its name anywhere).

This river nearby flows into a larger one called Bokhtyuga.

There is a floating bridge across it, which cannot be reached due to the flooding of the river.

The bridge leads to the village of Tupitsyno. There are no roads there.

I visited Arkhangelskoye twice in the afternoon, but I only rented one church.

Night walks give a completely different feeling.

And I also realized one thing: you need to shoot the sky near large settlements in cloudy weather – it will always be mystically layered!

It's a pity that there are no dugouts at all...They should be here!

Or maybe they were here once...I don't think so, though. In the Sokolsky district, except for the city itself, cellars are still used in villages to this day.

Wow, these photos are really amazing. The lighting and contrast with the night sky is like a dream. Thank you for sharing!
