Supertelephoto
It's time to think in detail about the super telephoto lens. A lot of my street scenes were shot on a 100-400 mm lens, now on 100-500 mm. The long-focus lens allows you to take unusual and unusual angles.
But what if we try something even more powerful?
A two-fold teleconverter of 100-400 mm allowed the focal length to be increased to 800 mm.
At first it seemed interesting, but I got enough of it very quickly and realized that there are very few such views and angles in the city to reveal all the possibilities of the lens.
And why such a strong approximation, where everything turns out to be too big?
If you are shooting wildlife (birds, animals) or spying on people, then you may need such optics.
For a long time, I dreamed of getting something under 1000 mm, or at least trying it.
I tried it...and I made sure that I didn't need more than 600 mm.
That is, a 100-500 mm lens is enough for 99% of the plots.
There are relatively inexpensive analogues with a large focal length, but I won't even consider them.
The new camera has a digital teleconverter function, and you can also enable crop 1.6.
Combined with the physical teleconverter and all the maximum digital magnifications, I got over 5000 mm!
Due to the poor quality of the digital zoom, I will not show the results.
But I will say that there is an opportunity from another part of the city to see the silhouette of a man standing on the observation deck of the bell tower of the main temple of the city.
It will probably be possible to see craters on the moon...
But urban plots are no longer amenable to any framing and composition.
If already at 800 mm distant objects do not have clear boundaries due to evaporation and haze, then there is no point in shooting anything further.
You always have to try and test everything, a lot of wishlist can just fall off the wish list.
