Sunny day in Belozersk
I have been to this wonderful city twice in summer and twice in winter, but I have never been in the off-season. I think that with the nature of my job, I'll be here many more times.
It is not always possible to take a productively walk around Belozersk during my stay.
Productively, it means not only to thoughtfully capture certain views, but also to feel and absorb the entire surrounding atmosphere.
There are no dugouts-cellars here, but they are not needed – they will only distract from admiring the ancient appearance of the city.
Once upon a time, as a child, I loved to look at photos in a small book about different places in the Vologda region.
The book "Treasures of the Vologda Land" has since become my favorite.
That's how I fell in love with Totma, Kirillov, and Belozersk before I even visited them.
So I started taking pictures, trying to create the same images with which I could travel virtually.
In those pictures, Belozersk is perceived differently, more mysteriously. Sometimes you don't even want to destroy the atmosphere that was created while watching and immersing yourself in the image.
These are two different Belozersk: in the pictures in the book and in reality.
But what if my pictures also become a personal world for someone, a portal, a place of immersion in virtual reality?
After all, the picture shows only a small part, and everything else is completed by our brain, sometimes even a non-existent simulation....and with that, the feeling of a place you've never been to in person.
It's good that I still have those childhood feelings from the picture in the book and have not been overwritten with new feelings from the real Belozersk. Although both are magical in their own way!
