Boat garages in Nizhnyaya Mondoma
Nizhnyaya Mondoma is a settlement in the Belozersky district of the Vologda Region, located at the confluence of the Mondoma River with White Lake.
I've been interested in this place for a long time because of the large number of boat garages.
I first found them on a satellite map, and then confirmed their presence using my own photo taken from a helicopter over the village.
I wanted to come here at night, but I was distracted by the northern lights...It would be more accurate to say, carried away.
And in such remote places there is usually very little light.
Another reason why you have to go here at night, but in summer, since the Mondoma River is frozen in winter and does not reveal the whole nature of the boat garages.
In general, these places should be studied at any time, to capture life.
In the pictures, it will appear that these are car garages, and there is a driveway between them.
It's actually a river, and there are boats in the garages.
An interesting, unusual and even new feeling in such a place!
I wish these garages were dilapidated and the light was gloomy. The river would be open, and I would be sailing a boat between them...
But at the same time, I often say: I wish I could see a place in its prime. You are welcome! The garages are quite fresh and clearly all used for their intended purpose.
I have observed and filmed similar structures in Vytegra.
Here they are much larger in size.
It's similar to dugouts in the atmosphere, but it's still something else.
And yet, I should have tried to feel like I was here at night...
In the summer, without a boat, I would not have been able to get so close to them.
And in winter it is not at all clear that these are garages for boats...the dilemma..
