Blooming horse chestnut
I included the horse chestnut blossom in a series about universal budding and blooming last year, but I didn't even know it was a chestnut. Now I know that this is not an ordinary chestnut, but a horse chestnut.
Horse chestnut is not a type of chestnut and was named so in order to distinguish its inedible fruits from the real edible natural chestnut.
I told you that through photography I get to know the world around me!
To give a description to the pictures, I had to study the object of photographing.
In Vologda, I know where natural chestnuts and a single horse grow.
I will soon know how all the local trees and shrubs bloom!
The inflorescences of the horse chestnut remind me of a bent palm with closed fingertips.
There is even such a gesture in a set of emoticons or emojis in some messengers.
All the blooms are interesting, but people will pay attention only to the most significant ones: apple trees, cherries, bird cherry trees and lilacs.
And why not arrange a photo shoot against the background of a blooming maple or chestnut tree?
In bigger and more comfortable cities, there is probably a lot more variety in blooms...
But, as it seems to me, there are no bird cherry trees in large cities that are more provincial.
