Stef, I think as we get older we become more used to "doing things a certain way," and when visitors come, we end up having to use a different routine.
I remember my auntie in Denmark always having lots of family visitors... I lived with her for longer periods of time (months) and she was always relieved to see the end of guests. Her point was that she was not as energetic as she once was... and having to be "on" for visitors took more energy than when she was younger.
Wow, I just noticed that it is already 5 days since I was planning to write you reply and every time postponed for tomorrow. My week this week has 7 workign day so it is still another working day tomorrow that is why I thought better to check today my outstabding messages.
I completely agree with your auntie it is good to have guests even our family members but as a host we want them to feel good and that is something that drain us due to that stress even if it is not real stress but we must be ready for everything.
I hope you have nice time and enjoying your summer, I will definitely enjoy my free days starting from Monday as I have some days off, desparately need them :)
