RE: There is Beauty in Brokenness
Two thoughts... Kintsugi — repairing broken objects with gold filled adhesives to highlight and honor the breaks while restoring the broken — is one of my very favorite artforms, but it's more than art, it's also a philosophy; a worldview... an extension of the wabi-sabi aesthetic that the greatest beauty is found in imperfection.
The beauty is not in the perfection, but in the way we put our pieces together ans still stay true to who we are. Who you are.
Second thought... I have probably already shared this with you:
Don't go changing;
There will always be someone who loves you,
As you are.
xo
Thank you @denmarkguy and sorry for the delayed response. Was a bit of a crazy week. I have always loved the concept of Kintsugi. I did a portrait of a woman once which was centred around that... I will see if I can find it.
Thank you for the song, no I dont recognise it... so going to take a listen now
