One of my life mission is to get rid of this vertical ridges of my fingernails, I thought that I really can do that considering that I have a good hemoglobin levels, not malnourished except I can't have enough calories in my diet, and I am not taking any medications except some needed and important food supplements that really works great especially to my bones. I still have a secondary hyperparathyroidism but it is getting some improvement due to the fact that my facial bone enlargement had receded considerably, so much so that I was able to speak again without anymore troubles of people understanding what I was saying. I recently recorded my voice when the courier of what I ordered online called me and I was surprised how my voice sounded like because it is indeed a normal-sounding voice unlike in the former years that I sounded like a retarded person. My sister in law once told me that my voice sounded like a DJ.

Anyway, you can tell that a person is a dialysis patient by looking at their fingernails. The fingernails have vertical ridges lie what I was showing here. Horizontal lines typically indicates some other systemic diseases or health conditions but having the vertical ridges plus missing that white part in the upper side of the fingernails is one hallmark sign that a person is a dialysis patient.

I thought that this will go away once I got dome improvement in my nutritional needs considering that I am not anemic anymore but the vertical ridges stays and I guess that it will be in that condition for as long as my internal imbalances will get correct which will not if I will not undergo a Kidney transplant which I am not qualified for.

What is important for me is that I am getting some improvements with my bones and that I will not get worse which at one point in my life terrified me because I thought that Leontiasis will get the best of me and yet I was able to surpass or control it thanks be to the mercy of God to my soul and of course with the prayers of many people whom I am impossible to know who they all are, I also give thanks because if not for improving this rare bone complication, then I would have suffered a lot before receiving my diploma on my graduation to this fascinating world we call earth.

como se ven,

You should not worry about it if you are healthy but I am just showing that fingernails like mine is one sign that I am a dialysis patient.

Horizontal ridges in the other hand is a sign of a serious medical condition and if we have those, we must consult a doctor to see what is causing it.

I have always heard that vertical ridges are just normal in some people (I have had them for as long as i can remember but they are pretty subtle). Horizontal ridges are more problematic because they indicate inconsistent nail growth which usually points to other health issues.

One thing that you can really see is that my fingernails doesn't have that white part in the upper area. It is still an enigma for me why it is like that too.

interesting !! I like your posts :)

Thanks! I hope that you got aware a bit from my condition.

Obviously I understood your condition, but you just have to continue life :)
