I was able to renew my Postal ID today which I use for my identity verifications because it is near its expiry date

My plan for renewing my Postal ID happened just today because we were supposed to go on Monday but since it was a holiday on that day we just postponed it and we just scheduled it to be done right this date. So after we had arrived in the municipal grounds where our town post office was located, we were told that we needed some papers like the Barangay clearance and a photocopy of my birth certificate we we didn't have. So we have no choice but to head back home and get those necessary papers so we can do the next step.
It was my mother who went to the Barangay council office to get the clearance which just says that I am a resident of our Barrio and I am given a go ahead for my purpose. The Barrio secretary just gave my mother what she needed right then and there with no fuss. Then mother fetched my birth certificate and had it photocopied to complete my requirements.
It was the current Mayor's inauguration ceremony today so the parking lot of the municipal grounds is jam packed but at least the vehicles can still pass but not park. After we arrived there for the second time the officer of the municipal postal service gave us a form and told us to go ahead to the other postal office in the city beside our town because that one will be the site where I will submit the completed form that they gave, photographed and biometrics taken, and pay for the postal ID card.
We were asked if we wanted to ID to be a "rush" or just normal with a corresponding extra fee is rushed, so I took the rush option since it just costs a little money compared to the normal rate. I can already claim the new postal ID on Tuesday next week God-willing but it will only be my mother/parents that will claim it because it is not anymore necessary for me to be with my parents to get the said ID. However of course we have to show my IDs and photocopy of it and my mothers ID with photocopy, the receipt, plus my authorization letter telling them that I authorize my mother to claim my postal ID in my behalf.
Postal ID is the easiest ID to get from my country and it is one of the best valid ID to submit for institutions online or offline which needs it for verification purposes. My postal ID will expire in the coming months which is why I just renewed it again. It is because I do not want to have an inconvenience from my particular online account to limit me temporarily in using their website for the reason of an ID nearing expiration and so I have to prevent that just to avoid such inconveniences.

With us it's not pissible to let someone else pick up the ID. You have to go yourself. A parent of a minor can also not apply or pick it up without the child. Not even if it's a baby.

Well I find it strange if it were the case in your country Miss @wakeupkitty
Here in my country, the immediate relative of the person can claim like their parents, siblings, or children, provided that they have ID, photocopy of it with signature of both and authorization letter to be shown.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
@cryptopie, this is a fantastic and relatable slice-of-life post! Renewing IDs is a universal experience, and you've captured the whole process so vividly – from the initial trip to gathering documents and finally getting it done. The photos really bring the story to life, especially those Vivo X200 PRO shots, crystal clear! It is great that you're being proactive about keeping your documents up-to-date for online accounts, it's something we should all be mindful of. Thanks for sharing your day and reminding us of the importance of these little life admin tasks. I would love to hear what other kinds of official business you have to do where you live.
