Greetings friends! How are you today? I hope you are fine as I am. In this week's competition titled “Competition 92 - the animals", I chose to draw a wolf.

Wolf is a wild mammals which belong to the dog family. It is a carnivorous animal in nature and hunts in packs. Wolves have a strong, muscular body, with a bushy tail and a thick coat of fur. Below is my step-by-step pencil drawing of a wolf.

Materials For Drawing

  • Plain A4 paper
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Sharpener

Step 1
I began the drawing of my wolf with its eyes. I first drew the left eye followed by the right eye. I shaded the eye, leaving the eyelid, and lastly, at this step, I shaded the space between its eye.

Step 2
I drew the nose, the nostril and the mouth of the wolf.

Step 3
I sketched the head of the wolf. I began with the right ear and the cheek. I then drew the middle of the head, and after that, the left ear and the cheek. I also shaded the forehead of the wolf and the ears.

Step 4
I shaded the nose of the wolf to be black, and I shaded the nostrils to be darker to make it visible. I also shaded the eyelids of the wolf black using a 10B pencil. Lastly, I added shading to the face of the wolf.

Step 5
Here, I sketched the body of the wolf. I began from the neck down to the waist. I also sketched from the other side of the neck down to its chest and the forelegs.

Step 6
I shaded the body of the wolf using both 10B and 4B pencils for the shading and lastly, I drew the whiskers (the long hairs around the wolf's mouth). Finally, I wrote my name on the paper.
