It Has Been A Few Days ..

Since my last post, and I wanted to check in with everyone. It was a busy travel weekend, a busy Friday and a busy Monday. I don't have a ton of time to post a large update, but I thought a few pictures of our pup's, Molly and Pepper, would be nice.

We Traveled Up To Lancaster PA ..

And spent some quality away time with my family. Just us happy and healthy folks hanging out in the back yard having a little fun. We spent the day in the back yard soaking up some sun and soaking in a baby pool my wife purchased. I have to say that I thought it was a little weird at first, then realized that it was a pretty cool idea. Once it was filled and we were in it, Pepper became a bit curious to what was happening and jumped up to see what was going on. We set him up with a stool to give him a good view of the water. He eventually (with some help) made it into the water. Was he happy about this? I don't think so, but it was super hot out.. and he needed to cool down. His sister Molly (against her will) was also dipped in for a cool down. Deep down inside, I think she really enjoyed it.

I had to edit a few photos because I didn't think some of my pre-summer tan family would appreciate being caught in my blog in their post winter body's.. haha.

The fun has commenced and so had Pepper's interest ..

He sat by the side watching, after jumping in and being placed in. He was happy here for a few minutes.

Post getting soaked, the pups decided to take a breather in the sun and dry off. They were set up with a towel, water and a comfy dogie chair

They weren't very happy with me taking photo's but tolerated it anyhow. They always look so cute when they snuggle down together. They had a good view of us crazy humans, while they tried to ensure they were well enough away as to not risk getting wet again.

They found a few other comfy spots throughout the day.. chairs, grass and cool concrete. Anywhere to be close yet cool and relaxed..

After a long day outside and in the fresh warm air, the dogs wanted in to relax in more familiar territory. I let them on to the porch to relax before dinner. They were very happy with this. Pepper was still watching us all laughing and being noisy humans, but eventually lost interest. He found his nap spot on an unused stool while Molly retreated to her bed.

By 3 or 4pm, Molly was ready for food. She never misses a chance to eat! She let me know it was time to eat by standing in the door way staring at me. She was non-verbally saying get your butt up and feed me!! So I did just that.

It Really Was A Beautiful Day ..

Had by all of us, human and k-9 alike. A few of us got our first sun burns of the season, despite the application of sunscreen. I think it may be expired, so we'll put that item on our shopping list. There's nothing quite like spending quality time with family. We made the best of the day and were sad to part ways come Sunday. The dogs on the other hand, were ready for the ride back to their home. I know they enjoyed the weekend too. On the ride home, I thought I heard a sigh of sadness come from Molly and Pepper, like they were letting me know that depression was setting in, now that the trip was over.

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.

“Dogs are minor angels, and I don't mean that facetiously. They love unconditionally, forgive immediately, are the truest of friends, willing to do anything that makes us happy, etcetera. If we attributed some of those qualities to a person we would say they are special. If they had ALL of them, we would call them angelic. But because it's "only" a dog, we dismiss them as sweet or funny but little more. However when you think about it, what are the things that we most like in another human being? Many times those qualities are seen in our dogs every single day-- we're just so used to them that we pay no attention.”
