If you can imagine in your fantasies that vegetables experience some feelings then melancholy is probably one of them.
And how can you not languish?
Vegetables are used to holding tightly to the ground with their roots and then someone took them and pulled them out.
Therefore I think that this head of cabbage looking out the window is definitely yearning for those times when it was showing off in the garden.

This is ordinary cabbage, but it has been lying on the balcony for a long time :)
