A Bicycle Story ~ Just Keep Pedaling, After-all Life Goes On

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemians and Good Day to all! Today let's talk about bicycle, some of us like me don't even know how to ride a bicycle. I have never even thought about bicycle my whole life. But bicycle for some people is not just a simple ride, it provides the life to them and is very precious as their source of living. I have just spoken to a friend over the phone, we have got an appointment for me to interview him for a story in the magazine. He was late and when he called me and apologize, he said that his bike was stolen in the morning. He parked and chained it at a pole in front of a bank and after he finished his business in the bank, the bicycle has vanished. I asked him won't he make a police report and he said it's too hassle just for losing a bicycle. So that's his choice, but how about thousands of people who made a living by using a bicycle? These people would suffer and face much more problem that for some people would just say it is merely a bicycle.

The Bicycle

These bicycles were parked at the LRT station while their owners went to work using the LRT to go to somewhere further to earn their living. It is better to park antique bicycles that do not draw any unwanted attention like my friend who used a fancy bicycle when he went to the bank and ended up losing his bicycle to theft. I can understand now.

Food Panda Rider

I met these 2 awesome Food Panda Girl Riders while entering the Sunway Putra Mall Kuala Lumpur. These girl riders were waiting for any luck on food order from any food outlets operating in the Mall. This is Farah, 26 years (left) and Siti Hawa, 22 years (right), even though they don't have motorcycle but that did not stop them to work as food delivery rider. I can't imagine how they could deliver if it rains knowing how Malaysian weather will be raining almost everyday. They said they cannot make even RM50 per day even if they work the whole day and that would depend on their luck also on whether they can get any order. My prays goes to them and may God protect them in their line of duty.

OBike that turns into Zero Bike

The above yellow bikes photos are oBikes. oBike was a Singapore-registered stationless bicycle-sharing system that have a built-in Bluetooth lock and can therefore be left anywhere at the end of a journey, not just at a docking station. Users use a smartphone app to locate and rent bikes. I saw these bikes parked in front of the Damai Service Hospital Kuala Lumpur on 1 December 2017. After a few weeks from the first day I saw them I cannot see them anymore. I have no idea what went wrong with the project and the oBike project now can be called Zero Bike as all the bikes were no where to be seen anymore in the Kuala Lumpur area. It is a good idea, really not sure what happened to them!

That's all from me for now and that is the end of my bicycle story. Just Keep Pedaling my friends, after-all Life Goes On! Have a blessed day all and take care!
