Qualche settimana fa mi 'e capitato di vedere un'intervista doppia alla mai abbastanza compianta Margherita Hack, astrofisica, ed a un prelato ecclesiastico, credo fosse un cardinale.
Una scienziata ed un baciapile.

Di fronte due concezioni completamente differenti sul creato, la sua nascita, il mondo e tutto il resto.
La scienziata ovviamente si basa su dati scientifici mentre il prelato mette la fede al di sopra di ogni considerazione.
Da un lato e' valido soltanto quello che si puo' dimostrare, dall'altro puo' essere valida qualunque cosa, basta avere fede.

Da un alto chi sostiene che un pane e un pesce non possono diventare 100 pani e 100 pesci, dall'altra chi vuole far passare una cosa che non puo' accadere come un fatto, a patto di avere fede.
Io sono ateo, o forse non credente.
L'ateo nega ogni situazione non dimostrabile, il non credente lascia una fessurina, nel mio caso piccolissima, aperta nei confronti di cio che la logica non puo' spiegare.

Il prelato dice di comportarsi bene per avere poi nel regno dei cieli una ricompensa, la scienziata ribatte che occorre comportarsi bene perche' si deve avere una coscienza non per paura di cio' che accadra' dopo.
Il discorso potrebbe andare avanti per ore, se non hai fede a certe cose non credi, se hai fede allora tutto diventa possibile.

Capisco l'esigenza di molti, sopratutto quando la fine non e' lontana, di sperare che non sia tutto qua', che qualcosa di meglio da qualche parte ci deve essere, ma comprendo anche chi sostiene che siamo una macchina a zuccheri che si deteriora e finisce.

Chiudo con 3 situazioni.
Nei diari di Madre Teresa di Calcutta, letti da altri dopo la sua morte, c'era scritto anche; "Dio non mi parla da anni, al punto da chiedermi se davvero esiste un Dio".
Juri Gagarin disse; "Sono stato lassu', nel cielo, non ho visto nessun Dio"
"Se Dio veramente esiste spero che abbia una buona scusa" Woody Allen"

FAITH AND SCIENCE

A few weeks ago I happened to see a double interview with the never-enough-lamented Margherita Hack, astrophysicist, and an ecclesiastical prelate, I think he was a cardinal.
A scientist and a kiss-ass.

Faced with two completely different conceptions of creation, its birth, the world and everything else.
The scientist obviously bases herself on scientific data while the prelate puts faith above all considerations.
On the one hand, only what can be demonstrated is valid, on the other, anything can be valid, all you need is faith.

On the one hand, those who maintain that a loaf of bread and a fish cannot become 100 loaves and 100 fish, on the other, those who want to pass off something that cannot happen as a fact, as long as you have faith.
I am an atheist, or perhaps a non-believer.
The atheist denies every situation that cannot be proven, the non-believer leaves a small crack, in my case very small, open towards what logic cannot explain.

The prelate says to behave well to then have a reward in the kingdom of heaven, the scientist replies that it is necessary to behave well because one must have a conscience not for fear of what will happen next.
The discussion could go on for hours, if you do not have faith in certain things you do not believe, if you have faith then everything becomes possible.

I understand the need of many, especially when the end is not far away, to hope that this is not all, that there must be something better somewhere, but I also understand those who maintain that we are a sugar machine that deteriorates and ends.

I close with 3 situations.
In the diaries of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, read by others after her death, it was also written; "God has not spoken to me for years, to the point of asking myself if a God really exists".
Yuri Gagarin said; "I have been up there, in the sky, I have not seen any God"
"If God really exists I hope he has a good excuse" Woody Allen"
