Viaggio da oltre 40 anni.
A volte, come dicono quelli che hanno studiato, il viaggio e' piu' importante della meta.
Da buon viaggiatore, negli anni, ho imparato a muovermi leggero, eliminando il superfluo, questo vale per le valigie ma anche e soprattutto per le cose della vita.
Per oggi limitiamoci al bagaglio.

Come ho scritto piu' volte ho una famiglia di riferimento a Cuba, nella loro casa c'e' una camera per me, camera che ho utilizzato nei 5 anni di visa familiare, nella quale oggi tengo le mie cose.
A Cuba ho magliette, maglioni, giubbotto, pantaloni corti e lunghi, mutande, magliette, calzini, scarpe, shampoo, balsamo, profumi, schiuma da barba, caschi dello scooter e tutto cio' che puo' servirmi per una vacanza.
Quindi viaggio soltanto con il bagaglio a mano, con Air France sono 12 kg, con Air Europa con cui volero' fra pochi giorni, 10 kg.
Se trovo la tipa giusta al check riesco ad avere, a forza di grandi sorrisi, 1/2 kg di tolleranza.

Se fare la valigia da mettere in stiva non e' un gran problema, ci metti dentro tutto quello che vuoi, fare il bagaglio a mano (soprattutto se e' il tuo solo bagaglio) e' una forma d'arte.
Devi riuscire a farci stare dentro tutto cio' che ti serve, tenendo conto che qualcosa da vestire te lo devi comunque portare dietro, ci sono i regali per le persone care, qualcosa da mangiare (oramai quasi nulla, si trova di tutto) e poi altre cose che comunque servono.
Il tutto tenendo conto dei 10 o 12 kg che le compagnie permettono e del fatto che di liquido non puoi portare boccette o scatolette con piu' di 100 ml.

Quindi ogni cosa che metto nello zaino militare che uso sempre deve essere posizionata e piegata nel modo giusto, tenendo anche conto che posso portare anche una borsettina dove solitamente, oltre ai documenti di viaggi, sistemo i 5/6 libri che sempre mi porto dietro.
Ci sono pero' oggetti che preferisco portarmi dall'Italia, pero' devo trovarli in misura mignon.

Ad esempio il mio benzinaio vende profumi, anche buoni in boccette piccole, esistono spry di schiuma da barba piu' piccoli rispetto a quelli normali, insomma piu' trovi cose piccole meglio e'.
Se non ho tantissime cose da portarmi allora metto qualcosa da mangiare o comunque cose che laggiu' si trovano a fatica come il caffe', quello buono.
Poi bustine di grana, caramelle, vaschette di Nutella e poche altre cose.
Negli ultimi giorni, metto cose nello zaino, le tolgo, le rimetto, svuoto di nuovo lo zaino, lo riempio un'altra volta fino a quando tutto non e' al posto giusto, almeno per me.

Un paio di amici, che non hanno una base fissa a Cuba e che fanno vacanze di 15 giorni, hanno iniziato a viaggiare anche loro soltanto col bagaglio a mano.
Quando hai messo dentro qualche maglietta, pantaloncini, un paio di cambi, due paia di scarpe e l'aseo personale sei a posto.
Certo che se a Cuba uno ha il familion allora cambia tutto.
Ma arrivare all'Avana, scendere dall'aereo e vedere la gente che si accalca al nastro per ritirare il bagaglio mentre tu te ne vai tranquillo e' una cosa che non ha prezzo.
Anzi ne ha, perche' volando solo con bagaglio a mano si spendono di volo, minimo, 100/150 euro in meno.

HAND LUGGAGE

I have been traveling for over 40 years.
Sometimes, as those who have studied say, the journey is more important than the destination.
As a good traveler, over the years, I have learned to move lightly, eliminating the superfluous, this applies to suitcases but also and above all to the things of life.
For today let's limit ourselves to luggage.

As I have written several times, I have a reference family in Cuba, in their house there is a room for me, a room that I have used in the 5 years of family visa, in which today I keep my things.
In Cuba I have t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, shorts and long pants, underwear, t-shirts, socks, shoes, shampoo, conditioner, perfume, shaving foam, scooter helmets and everything I might need for a vacation.
So I travel only with hand luggage, with Air France it is 12 kg, with Air Europa with which I will fly in a few days, 10 kg.
If I find the right girl at the check in, I can get, with big smiles, 1/2 kg of tolerance.

If packing a suitcase to put in the hold is not a big problem, you can put in everything you want, packing a hand luggage (especially if it's your only luggage) is an art form.
You have to be able to fit in everything you need, taking into account that you still have to bring something to wear, there are gifts for loved ones, something to eat (almost nothing nowadays, you can find everything) and then other things that are still needed.
All this taking into account the 10 or 12 kg that the companies allow and the fact that you can't bring bottles or cans of liquid with more than 100 ml.

So everything I put in the military backpack that I always use must be positioned and folded in the right way, also taking into account that I can also bring a small bag where, in addition to travel documents, I usually put the 5/6 books that I always carry with me.
There are, however, objects that I prefer to bring from Italy, but I have to find them in miniature sizes.

For example, my gas station attendant sells perfume, even good ones in small bottles, there are shaving foam sprays that are smaller than the normal ones, in short, the smaller you find things the better.
If I don't have a lot of things to bring then I put something to eat or in any case things that are hard to find over there like coffee, the good kind.
Then packets of parmesan, sweets, tubs of Nutella and a few other things.
In the last few days, I put things in my backpack, take them out, put them back, empty the backpack again, fill it again until everything is in the right place, at least for me.

A couple of friends, who don't have a fixed base in Cuba and who go on 15-day vacations, have also started traveling with only hand luggage.
When you've packed a few t-shirts, shorts, a couple of changes of clothes, two pairs of shoes and your personal belongings you're all set.
Of course, if you have a family in Cuba then everything changes.
But arriving in Havana, getting off the plane and seeing people crowding around the carousel to collect your luggage while you walk away peacefully is something that is priceless.
In fact, it is, because by flying with only hand luggage you spend at least 100/150 euros less on the flight.
