Cook dal with dill

Necessary Materials
Cut 8-10 pieces of Shajan lengthwise
Wash half a cup of lentils well

Boiling lentils First wash the lentils well. Then boil the dal in a pot with turmeric powder, salt and enough water. The dal should not be too soft but slightly hard. Boil enough shajan and potatoes in another pot. Boil the shajan and potato pieces with little salt and water. Shajane may melt if overcooked, so be careful.
Heat oil in a kadai to prepare the curry. Boil cumin in it. When the aroma cumin comes out add onion and garlic and fry until light brown. When the masala mixture is fried add turmeric powder and chili powder and stir well.When the masala leaves the oil boiled sajon and potatoes.
5 When all the ingredients for mixing dal are mixed well, pour the pre-boiled dal into the pan. Add water if necessary to thicken the broth.
Bring to a boil cover and cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Once all the ingredient are mixed together add salt to taste before adding. Garnish and serving After cooking, sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves on top and serve with hot rice.

Do not over boil shajan or else it may melt. If you don't like broth, you can also cook dry type with less water. You can use little garam masala powder for different taste.
