RE: Night blooming mesembs
Yes, when I first got it, I actually thought it was faucaria then kept on wondering why the flower buds never opened

Haha, then one late afternoon showed you the error of your ways
Indeed! The conos were the same: they grow in the bathroom and I finally saw the flowers at around 2am one night when I was working late
Night-bloomers are surprising, and quite sweet-smelling too
Yes, I've never seen moths around or gotten seed pods so the pollinators must be very specific. Although I have had looper-type caterpillars hatching and appearing on succulents
Better than cutworms, they are utterly destructive
I've had those bastards. They can really decimate succulents, they are bad enough in the vegetable garden
Oof, they are problematic, also to find as they bury themselves in the soil during daylight hours
Now I'm worried: I'm about to move my plants into a greenhouse and there are many more worms that I have noticed in the soil. I guess I should work on keeping the soil clear of them
