I like the predators and pollinators, the pests: nice to look at but not clean up after them. I really like snails but have to seriously reduce the numbers - they are massively destructive to succulents
Mass-murdering the snails does get gross! Why not try beer traps: let them die happy
True, the problem is that there are indigenous species of snails that do no harm that you don't want to exterminate indiscriminately. It's the invasive common garden snails that are the problem

I'm sure it will. Snails actually need it to rain a lot to become active
Traps tend to kill everything, which you don't want
