The Diary Game 28-11-2024 Kegiatan di Sekolah
Today I woke up early and immediately got ready to go to school. I went to school at exactly 07:01 WIB, I went to school using a motorbike. I arrived at school at exactly 07:08 WIB, arriving at school I immediately did a fingerprint and did a manual school attendance too. At school I also saw Mr. Yusuf who had arrived at school and we chatted about school activities so far.
Today was a bit different than usual. I decided to ask some students to help me check the condition of the computer hardware in the school. Actually, this was an idea that just came up, because in the last few weeks I saw many computers in the lab room that were starting to feel slow, some even wouldn't turn on at all.
So, after the first lesson, I gathered some students who I thought were quite knowledgeable about computers. They were all members of the school's technology club, so I thought they would be happy to help. I started explaining their assignment. I said, "You all know how to check the condition of a computer, right? I want you to help check the computers in this lab. Check if there are any problems, be it software or hardware."
One of the students, Andi, immediately raised his hand and asked, "Sir, do we only check the ones that look broken, or do we have to open the insides too?" I was happy to see Andi so enthusiastic. "Of course, make sure to check everything. If there is something that doesn't look like it's working properly, make sure to check it more deeply, including the insides, but of course, be careful," I replied.
Several students immediately got to work. They checked the cables, monitors, keyboards, and some of them even opened the CPU casing to check for loose cables or dust that had accumulated inside. It turned out that many computers needed regular cleaning. There was one that wouldn't turn on at all, and after checking, it turned out that the power cable was loose. Simple, but quite annoying.
In the middle of the check, I sat at the table, monitoring them while feeling a little proud. How could it not be, even though they were still relatively young, they already had good skills and understanding on how to care for and maintain school equipment. In fact, some of them gave ideas to improve computer performance by deleting unnecessary programs or updating the operating system.
I felt this was the right moment to give them an award for their initiative and help. After their work was done, I thanked them sincerely. "Thank you, you have helped a lot. Now this lab is much more ready to use."
They all smiled, and I felt happy to be able to give them the opportunity to learn more about the world of technology, while also helping this school to keep its equipment running well.
Today really taught me an important lesson about the importance of collaboration, giving students the trust to take responsibility, and how technology can actually be fun, even outside of regular lessons.
I hope that with a little maintenance like this, the computers in the school can continue to support teaching and learning activities smoothly. And maybe, next time, I can give them another more challenging project.
After dinner at home, tonight I had coffee with @zulbahri and had a steemit discussion.
