A few of the exchanges are registered in the Indian crypto market, which is beneficial for users. However, things are becoming more compliant, and exchanges are working to align with government guidelines. Bybit is one of the exchanges that is registered in India, and the exchange has announced that it will be imposing 18% GST on all transactions starting July 7th 2025.

Indian exchanges are already following this practice, but now this is the first international crypto exchange that is going to start applying GST on all the transactions, and since this implementation is going to start from 7th July so we are just two days away from this change to be implemented.

Bybit, a global cryptocurrency exchange, recently announced that it will be applying 18% Goods and Services Tax for Indian crypto users, starting from July 7, 2025. The GST amount will be directly deducted from the assets received. Moreover, the exchange also put an end to legacy products and services.

While the GST is getting implemented from this month onwards, the exchange has also announced that they will discontinue some legacy products, and these products will not be available in the Indian market anymore. The end of these products will happen this month, only on different dates; however, it is scheduled to happen very soon, and all the transactions done by the indian users on the platform will attract GST.

As per the Exchange, Over 300 K users will be impacted after this change, and the GST will be implemented at the rate of 18% on the trading fee. It means that whatever trades users will do will cost more since GST will be included, and the cost will be borne by the traders only. The higher taxation is already a problematic part in the crypto market in India, and it looks like after the GST implementation, things are going to be even more difficult for the trader,s so we'll see how iturnsrn out to be and how it also impacts the trading for crypto the in indian market.
