I had such a wonderful childhood full of simple yet beautiful memories. I was born in a small and quiet little village surrounded by rice fields and clear flowing rivers. Every afternoon, I frolicked with my school friends under the canopy of guava trees or filled my little bamboo-basket with fish from a small river adjacent to my house. There were few toys in the modern sense at that time, but our imagination turned clay, the midribs of banana trees, pebbles into playthings. I learnt friendship, comradeship and simplicity from those days.

My education started in a public elementary school that consisted of a few classrooms and a dirt field. Dedicated teachers despite poor amenities Those days our teachers taught with full devotion, although there was a paucity of facilities. As an active student, I enjoyed posing questions, particularly during the science and Indonesian classes. I went through high school and then college where I studied what I was interested in and opened my eyes at organizations and parties. School is not simply somewhere to be educated in the abstract, but a place to form one’s character and appreciate the value of life.

Best moment in your life: When I graduated and made my parents proud of me. The most precious gift I have been given was seeing the tears of joy in their eyes. It was the best time of his life because all the years of hard work and sacrifice had finally paid off.

The worst point in my life on the other hand was when I lost a very close family member. It was a sudden loss and I can’t even begin to convey the depth of my sadness in words. I felt as if the world had come to a halt there and then and that I would never get over it. But from that one day, I learnt that life is about time, loving someone and not waiting to tell how much they mean to you.
