Many people use jokes to lighten the mood, get closer to others, or just bring laughter in the midst of busyness. I personally think jokes are something that can be very beneficial if used wisely. However, not all jokes should be accepted at face value. There are times when jokes go too far or even hurt other people's feelings, especially if they touch on sensitive matters such as physical, religious, or personal trauma. In this case, i agree that jokes need to be limited or even stopped if they have crossed the line.

In general, i enjoy jokes that are light, intelligent, and not offensive to anyone. i find such jokes funny and enjoyable. However, i have also been annoyed by certain types of jokes—especially those that belittle or embarrass others in public. For example, i once experienced an annoying joke during my school days. Just before the day ended my friend hid my bag, I was so panicky because i thought it was lost. After everyone laughed when they found the thing, I was the one who felt sad because it humiliated me and was unappreciative.

If not treated well, this type of jokes can be named as “expensive jokes”. So when I do this, the joke is usually more like how can the joke be malicious or just a joke meant in no ill will.

If it's getting too much, then I address the perpetrator directly and firmly even if it makes me angry. Open communication is key to set out the limits that absolutely do not exist.

However, I also got to try a few of the best jokes that have stuck with me. One, when my friends pulled a prank on me by forgetting my birthday. Everyone acted normal all day then plot-perfectly at night, my candles and upcoming gift dropped on me. I felt sad on first because I was forgotten, but then the surprise came and I laughed out loud. These jokes are the funny, not brutal type because those are made with love. all photos taken with Vivo v2022 smartphone
