Who Has Most Influence on Children?

Dear friends in this great community, I greet you. How are you doing. It's been a long time I haven't been with you. Thank you @okere-blessing for this contest. I'm back to contribute my ideas on who influences children most. This post aims at explaining who has most influence on a child. Please stay with me let's start the discussion.

Influence is a very significant factor that shapes human behaviour. A child can be influenced by the parents, environment or the peers. Thus, any of these factors has the propensity to either mold or reshape a child's character for life.

Who has the most influence on children?

Although a child's source of influence depends to a large extent, the family a child comes from, i think a mother has most influence on children. The reasons for this position are not far-fetched. First, mothers are exposed to the children early in life. They become friends to their children. Whatever they say or do as friends tends to shape a child's behaviour.

Apart from that, a child enjoys the mother's company than anyone. Mothers are believed to be the first teachers of a child. Whatever they teach children at this stage has the capacity to influence a child throughout his or her life time. For instance, the Bible records that Timothy was influenced positively by his mother, Eunice and grandmother, Lois who taught him good morals. He grew up with that influence to become a man of God. Therefore, as a teacher, a mother is always available for a child and can mold his life for ever.

Again, mothers show much care in the life of a child than anyone else. Whoever cares for you has an opportunity of influencing you. This is true. Mothers hate to see their children treated badly or lack some basic necessities of life. So they can always make provision to provide for them. After all, the saying, "he who pays the piper dictates the tune" comes to bear here.

Who influenced you most during your childhood?

Honestly speaking, my father was the principal influencer of my life during my childhood. His strict discipline helps me in life even till today. Although he is late, my father's thunderous voice to correct us when he comes back home, shaped my life today. I thought he was rude to us but I later grow up to understand how his strict principles influence my adulthood. Although my mother had played her role in my upbringing, my father's influence was unquantifiable. <div class="text-justify"

Do you think children can restrain themselves even when they have good background/home training? (You can give examples, if any)

Certainly, most children misbehave even though they have good family upbringing. Yes, this is very true. I have a case from my uncle who had given his children good training. Unfortunately, his first son, Aniefiok is nothing to write home about. He misbehaves because he has joined bad company. He becomes a threat to even his father's life. Environmental and peer influence can shift a child's good home training away, leaving him at the mercy of negative influences.

How are you influencing the younger ones around you?

As a teacher who is working with the young ones, I try in my little way to influence their lives. In the class, I don't permit them to use rude words on one another. I also teach them how to do assignment and submit on time and be time conscious. I discourage them from indecent dressing to school. I try my best to let them see the consequences of bad behaviour in their adult life.

Thank you so much for reading through my post. Have a great time. Cheers!
