Lifestyle Diary Game 7th June 2025 | On the day of Eid-ul-Azha, some Eid-centered moments
ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
The holy Eid-ul-Azha is a great day for the Muslim community, a day of joy and a day of sacrifice. On this day, those who are capable offer animal sacrifices as a form of dedication. Allah has made this obligatory for every capable person. It is essential, Alhamdulillah. Today, I enjoyed some moments of that day.
I started the day with a prayer to the Great Lord. After having breakfast cooked by my mother, I set out to perform the obligatory Eid prayers. Here, the Eid prayers are held in the prayer ground at 8 AM. So, I arrived at the ground on time and sat among the worshippers.
I noticed that a lot of people have come to the field today indiscriminately to obey Allah's command. One thing is clear. Even if people do not perform the five daily prayers, on a day like this Eid, they come to the open field to perform the prayer. I don't know what knowledge they have that makes them perform the prayer only on this day. And why don't they perform it on the other days?
Anyway, the charm of the Imam began. He gave a sermon about some history of this day, such as the story of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and his son Ismail (peace be upon him) regarding their sacrifice. After the prayer, he delivered the khutbah. Then, as a tribute to the Eidgah field and the Imam, he collected money from everyone.
This is how we completed the prayers at our Eidgah before 9 AM. Meanwhile, those of us who are going to sacrifice animals together have gone to perform prayers in different fields. Our community's field was quite far inside. The one near our house belongs to another area, so we performed prayers close to home. However, most people went to the community's field.
Meanwhile, the prayers near our house had already finished. The rest were a bit delayed. So, it was not possible to sacrifice alone. Therefore, I was sitting at home waiting. Suddenly, one of my uncles called me, asking me to come home quickly because we were going to sacrifice animals here. So I went. After that, I sacrificed the animals.
I started sacrificing animals. There is a tradition in our country, that is, in our country, that most of the people sacrifice animals by the clerics. The ideal rule is that the animal sacrifice will be given by those who are sacrificing the capable people from among them. But they do not sacrifice, they think that our sacrifice will not be accepted.
And so every year after I sacrifice ourselves, the other five or six also sacrifice cows and animals to others. Sacrifice means slaughtering their cows. This is a great courage, this courage does not apply to everyone. I slaughtered this cow with a big picture, this is the knife.
Through the slaughtering of these cows, we receive some gifts that are extremely important for us and are a duty for those who perform the sacrifice. The scholars say that those who sacrifice must give some part of the sacrifice to those who perform the slaughter. They deserve to receive it. For other butchers who slaughter,
it may be completely easy. However, for those who do not sacrifice, that is, who do not slaughter, they complain during the time of sacrifice about how difficult it is to slaughter. They say their hands hurt. In this instance, I have slaughtered 6 cows and 1 goat. As a result, they have given me gifts.
Those who slaughter each animal find joy in their hearts, and they receive some income that is halal, with no element of haram involved. Receiving this money, I first went home and informed my mother, who was very pleased. After returning home, I rested for a while since I felt unwell after slaughtering a cow.
Since I had slaughtered a cow for about six people, and we had many tasks to do there, I was going to that place. So, after preparing everything, I took my leave and went straight to where the cow was being slaughtered. The others were sneaking around, removing the cow's skin and taking everything out from inside.
After slaughtering the cow, we have a process through which we carry out the slaughter and beautifully separate the parts. First, we skin the cow, then we keep the separate arrangements apart, and they sort the parts. From there, we cut the meat into smaller pieces and separate the bones.
In this way, we keep each part separately. Then we divide everything in the cow, including meat and bones, into three parts. One part is given to the community to distribute among the poor. The remaining two parts are shared among the six of us. After that, we divide one portion for our relatives and one portion for ourselves.
In this system, we divide and distribute every time. Our portions should be divided into three, but since we have a community, we do this according to the community rules. May everyone be well and healthy. Allah Hafiz. Eid Mubarak.
