Title:That Big Mistake That I Wouldn't Forget In A Hurry
Hi steemit community! I'm excited to share with you a cautionary take that taught me a valuable lesson, Recently I found myself in a sticky situation that could have been avoided... A Facebook friend of mine came to my place, saying he wanted to see me, I was woken up by cousin to come see the guy that was looking for me outside.we talked about life and Internet related things. He seemed like a genuine person, and we had some good conversations.
Then after some minutes he brought the idea of us going to strolling, which I didn't want to at first but I had to since he insisted
My phone was dead ,,and there was no electricity in my area.
He suggested we take the phone for me to charge my in the nearby spot after strolling.
I agreed, and he helped me charge it at the sit out.
After some while,he asked to use my phone to buy data and transfer money for the things he ordered for us. I unlocked it and shared my password, trusting that he would return it.Since he wasn't with his own device.
He smiled and left ,never to return.i waited for 30 minutes, sweating and praying for a second chance.i reported the incident to manger of the place and tried calling my phone, but it was switched off.i was emotionally drained, wondering why someone I trusted would betray me.
I couldn't sleep that night, and my family was disappointed when I told them.My cousin didn't even believe me at first.i was thinking and overthinking, worried about how I would cope without my phone and examination was around the corner.i wasn't up to a month old that week was supposed to make it a month old, and I had all my important contacts and school information stored on it.
The next morning,I gathered my courage and went to where I got the phone to asked if they can help me block the phone cause I got it through EASY BUY.They said no.
Luckily,I caught him along the road as I was coming back from the phone office I stopped the bus driver and with the help of him and one other guy we caught the thief.and he confessed to selling my phone. We went to the buyer, but they denied knowing him.i gathered courage and reported the incident to the police, However, after some days ,the thief's dad came and apologized for his son's actions. He replaced my phone with a new one, same device and model.
I was relieved and happy, but also wiser.i.learned a valuable lesson:don't trust people easily with your personal belongings!Be cautious and vigilant.Dont give out your things easily, especially to someone you barely know.
This experience taught me to be more careful and mindful of my surroundings,is not everyone that should know where you live.
I hope my story can serve as a warning to others,to be more aware of their belongings and not to trust strangers easily.
Thanks for going my post!
