RE: As a freelancer, how do you benefit from negotiating to get the best outcome for you?

in You.Deserve4 years ago

I am not a regular Freelancer for now but I remember losing one of my deals back in 2019.

The man wanted me to create a website for his NGO. As I started to talk to him about the payments related to my work and hosting he said it clear to my face that i was asking too much.

But believe me i asked for less than 150 dollars to finish the project and offered one year review to the website for free as well.

Also I was trying to negotiate and the client simply said that I can give no more than 25 dollars.

In that case i would have to pay momey from my pocket for his domain and hosting as that was all he was giving to me.

So , I cancelled the deal. And till date he hasn't found a person to work for him for that much money.

Negotiation can be tough sometimes and it hurts sometimes as well.

The problem is that I am a lot of those who have resigned in the free work sites and are lowering the price to a very terrible degree, especially the Arabs and Indians. This is what I have observed. You must enhance your work and on the occasion I do not harm anyone. I may say what is there and you know this, because I am a Muslim and I love honesty

Yes because one have to earn livelihood and something is better then nothing.
We being muslim always have to take care of halal and haram and I try not to do anything against the honesty.

I am really happy to meet you here on steemit🙂.
You are from which country...?

And are you running the you.deserve community...?

This is what made me fundamentally here. You know what is forbidden or what is forbidden money brings misery only, and it is always against honesty, and this is what prevails in the world, unfortunately, as for us as Muslims, we must investigate and seek what is permissible and behind what benefits people and does not harm them with anything

(... ومن يتق الله يجعل له مخرجا ويرزقه من حيث لا يحتسب) صدق الله العظيم

You are exactly 💯 correct. I have seen with my own eyes.
One person here took loan from people at riba ( interest ) and then started a business and he kept on taking / giving riba.

He hasn't been successfull in the business in four years now.

Inna mal aamalu binniyaat. his intention was not to repay the money and on that he took the money on riba so he is not successful.

May Allah keep us all on the right path always...!!!
Aameen💛
