At one point in our lives, we often find ourselves in situations where we'll be left with no option than to show love and compassion to people in certain conditions.

I remember a certain time where I went to the hospital for medical checkup. After taking my vitals, getting to meet with the doctor, certain tests carried out and the doctor sent my prescription to the pharmacy, I went to the pharmacy department to make payment and pick my medications.
Just after picking up my medication and turned to leave, an elderly woman approached me. She should be in her mid fifties or early fifties. She was looking very worried and disturb. She first of all apologized for disturbing my peace. She showed me her prescription and pleaded if I could assist her get even just a single drug on the list. That she doesn't even have money to feed let alone getting medications for herself. And truly, she looked weak and pale.

I fought back my tears when she handed over the prescription to me cos the total amount wasn't something much or a bill to worry about. And for the fact that she has been hungry kept me wondering how she will be able to take her medications. I told her not to worry about the bills. I settled it and gave her something that will be able to sustain her for a couple of days. I can bet that no one has every appreciated and prayed for me the way this woman did. Her prayers and appreciation was begining to draw attention. I just had slip away from that scene.

Also, Jesus had compassion on the multitude of crowds when he feed the 5,000 men with just 2 fish and five loaves of bread. After these people spend several days in the desert listening to Jesus' teachings, the were weak and hungry. Jesus knew that if he releases this people to go find food for theirselves, most of them wouldn't make it even halfway to the town. He had to devise means to ensure that they had something to eat before dispersing them.

Another scenario of compasion is the story of the good Samaritan in the Bible. We learnt how this stranger fell into the hands of robbers who didn't just robbed him but beat the soul out of his body and was left unconscious. A levite pass through that route, saw him but jumped over him and continued his journey. Same with a priest who was passing that route. But a certain Samaritan sighting him from afar, rode closer, came down from his colt and took him to an inn where he requested the physician attend to this stranger. He paid him some money and promised to still stop by on his way back to know if there was any other commitment that will be required of him. This is what being compassionate entails.

I'm inviting my friends; @owulama @ibrahim @ashley-p to also participate in this contest
