"Recipe of the Day, Week No. 54: (kolak biji salak)"
Steemit Iron Chef
Hello everyone, welcome back with me, on this occasion I want to make a food that comes from my area which is a very unique food, kolak biji salak, what do you think about this, do you think this kolak is made from real salak seeds haha, at first I thought that kolak biji salak came from real salak seeds but after I saw it I just found out why it is called kolak biji salak because its shape is round like salak seeds so it is called kolak biji salak, very unique, isn't it?
Kolak biji salak itself is the result of processing purple sweet potato with tapioca flour and also doused with coconut milk sauce which will make this kolak biji salak taste so delicious, but today I will make kolak biji salak from purple sweet potato but another time I will also make it again with other sweet potatoes and from pumpkin, so for those of you who love sweet potatoes I think this is a recipe that I recommend for you because this processed sweet potato kolak will make you addicted to its delicious taste, soft, sweet and savory, this is an extraordinary taste
Here I will share the recipe with all my friends. If you are a lover of unique, soft and sweet food, I think this dish is very suitable for your beloved friends. Don't forget to try it at home immediately because this is a special dish.
10 tablespoons tapioca flour
200 ml coconut milk
1 pandan leaf
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
- First, boil the purple sweet potato first and then puree it. After it is pureed, add 10 tablespoons of tapioca flour, one teaspoon of salt, then knead until the dough does not stick to your hands.

- After that, take a teaspoon of the dough and then roll it into balls. Do this until it is all used up.
- Then add 200 ml of water to the pan and one pandan leaf. Add the salak seeds and cook until boiling. Until the salak seed balls expand to the top, that's a sign that they are cooked.
- Once it is cooked, add three tablespoons of granulated sugar, stir slowly so that the sugar seeds do not break, then set aside.
- Then add 200 ml of coconut milk to the pan, three tablespoons of granulated sugar, then stir well and cook briefly until boiling, then turn off the heat and wait until it cools down.
The way to serve is very easy, put the salak seeds and the sauce into a bowl, then pour the coconut milk sauce that we made earlier and the purple sweet potato salak seed compote is ready to be enjoyed, it tastes very delicious, sweet, soft and savory
