The benefits of salt
Hello, friends welcome to my post in which I have discussed "The benefits of salt" as part of my participation in this 👉contest organized by @lirvic
✓ What type of salt do you usually consume frequently, table salt, sea salt, or another type of salt?
Table salt is the salt that I mostly use in cooking food because it is the most affordable and easy-to-find salt in my country, Nigeria. However, I will say that sometimes I occasionally use sea salt most of the time or Himalayan pink salt for some types of foods, but currently, it is table salt that I have at home.
✓ What benefits do you know of salt?
Without salt in our food, whatever food is cool without salt in it, it will be tastiest, but with salt in it, the food will be sweet for eating. Salt is very essential for our body in small amounts. It helps us to maintain fluid balance, supports nerve and muscle function, and helps to enhance the flavor of food. Also, it helps to prevent hooters and supports thyroid function because of the iodized iodine that is found inside the salt.
✓ Is it easy to find salt in supermarkets in your country? What's the price of Steem?
Yes, it is very easy to find salt in supermarkets and local shops in Nigeria. In Nigeria supermarkets and local shops, there are different varieties of available salt, and the salt price is quite lower than other items. In fact, salt is the cheapest commodity in Nigeria, and the price might vary by region, but the last time I bought a small pack of table salt, it was sold to me at ₦200, which is around 0.8 STEEM based on the current exchange rate.
✓ Do you have any special way of storing salt to preserve its properties?
Yes, I have a special way of storing salt I usually store my salt in an airtight container to prevent it from absorbing moisture. The last time a friend of mine came to my house, she introduced me to adding a few grains of rice to the salt container to keep it free-flowing and dry, which I only tried once.
✓ What trick do you use to correct excess salt in a meal?
If a meal ends up too salty, I usually use tricks like:
Mixing in a bit of sugar yogurt, or cream into the meal to balance the flavour
I do add a peeled potato to absorb some salt
I do increase the amount of other ingredients, such as rice, vegetable water, and others, depending on the food I am cooking.
Greetings dear friend!
Table salt is available in all the kitchens. It's great that it is easily accessible to you. Sea salt and Himalayan salt adds a unique touch. You save your salt in airtight container that's good. It is used for balancing the flavors. Very nice.
Good luck dear friend!
