Let's make semolina pudding today!
Today I am going to prepare a yummy dessert which you can make very easily because it's recipe is quick and easy as well it's very very cosy friendly so let's talk about ingredients you need and then about process for making this recipe!
• Oil (Half cup).
• Semolina which is Suji in my native language Urdu (1.5 cup).
• Sugar (3 tablespoons)
• Coconut (Around 100 grams)
• Almonds (7-8)
• Yellow food colour (Optional 1/4th teaspoon)
Take a pan and add oil in it and when oil starts to cook or when it gets heat up then add semolina in it but before stain semolina so that you may get clean semolina.
You can see that how semolina absorbs all the oil quickly just in 15-20 seconds as I mix it with oil by the help of spoon.Now it's important to know that you don't need to fry it(You just need to cook it until it starts to get brown)
You need to get full brown colour.Just when it starts to get skin in colour then cook it for some more seconds at low flame because one it's colour turns to skin from white then it sticks with pan and get dark brown very quickly which is not required for this recipe so the required colour of semolina can be seen in above picture.
Mix yellow food colour in water and it should not be added in too much amount as it gives a bitter taste as well gives a orange shade to recipe which don't looks good so I added just two pinch or 1/4th teaspoon of colour in water and mix it well.
Now we will add water little by little in cooked semolina because if we will add water quickly in too much quantity then you may get burn too as while adding water steam comes out and due to heat you may get burn so you can see that how little by little I am adding water.
After adding some water I add sugar in it for getting sweeteness in my recipe.After mixing sugar again there is a need to add water in it because water and oil both get absorbed in semolina quickly.
I add water again in pan and total I added 2.5 cups of water little by little in semolina so that at last we may not feel any thing uncooked in recipe.We will continuously stirr it until water may get absorbed properly.
This is I have shown you just the consistency of recipe that how much thick or consistency this recipe should have.So now it's a time to cut coconut and almonds for garnishing.
I take piece of coconut that was already soaked in water and now it was soft and easy to cut for garnishing at this recipe so I cut coconut in long shape and similarly cut almonds in long shape.
Now it's a time to decorate a plate with semolina pudding so in this way I presented it's final look which is called suji hlwa in my native language Urdu.
