Am thrilled to engage in the steemit learning challenge fourth week of season 24 under the topic Cake challenge where everyone is entitled to use their hand and prepare date cake. It is advisable that we all should remember nutrition is one of the pillars of our health and general well-being. In less than no time let processed to contest practical and questions.

Make the given recipe in detail with step by step pictures. Include your name tag with the date at the final presentation of the recipe

Ingredients used

  • 🥞Butter 125g
  • 🥞Sugar 125g
  • 🥞Flour 125g
  • 🥞Eggs 2
  • 🥞Dates 250g
  • 🥞Warm tea 160 ml
  • 🥞Cashew 25g
  • 🥞Baking powder 1 tsp
  • 🥞Vanilla 1 tsp

First, I took 250 grams of dates, put them into a clean bowl, took out the kernels from inside and kept them separate. And cut the dates in small size.

Step 2: I poured 160 ml of tea over the dates and added soda to it. I covered it for 10 minutes. This helps the dates to be well absorbed in the hot tea.

Step 3: I Prepared a clean bowl and added butter and sugar to it. I turned them together until it’s lighter in colour.

Step 4: I added my egg one by one and mixed it together using the same spatula till I achieved a smooth texture mix.

Step 5: My next step followed by adding half teaspoon vanilla flavour to my creamer and then mixed all together.

Step 6: I add Baking powder to the flour and stevie them to the mixture in bowl. I mixed thoroughly to avoid lumps and achieved a beautiful smooth batter.

Step 7 : It was the right time for us to introduce the dates mixture into the batter and mixed once more.

Step 9: I greased the baking pan with butter to be able to provide friction at the end of baking, this removing the baked cake easily from the pan. I added the pieces of the cashew nuts on top of the cake. At this point,the batter is ready for baking.

Step 10 : I then transferred the batter into the greased baking pan and baked after preheating the oven. I baked it for 40 minutes and it was ready.

What difficulties did you encounter while making this recipe?

I did not experience any difficulties because I followed my teacher's instruction on how to do it tactfully.

To make new things, it is advisable to abide by the rules and instructions given. Using the same measurements will help attend to a pleasing results. My first time of making dates cake with excellent.

Reading this contest,I was curious thinking that it will be so Sweet but my outcome give me 💯/💯 yummy and palatable taste . My daughter like and cherish this cake.

4 .Explain the importance of each of the ingredients you used in making this cake..

Cashew nuts: It added to the appetizing g look of the cake as a garnishing ingredients and also added nutritional value as nuts is a good source of healthy fats and vitamins.

Tea: Since tea is a liquid agent, it plays a vital role in our cake preparation, it helps to soften the date, serve as a moisturiser and added a good flavour to the cake.

Baking powder : Baking powder plays a significant role in cake making because without baking powder, the batter cannot rise sufficiently, and the cake will not look or taste yummy 😋.

Date is a great source of iron, high in fiber so it's good for digestion.Very delicious natural sweetener, contains antioxidant properties, control low blood pressure and decrease the risks of heart attack. Putting inside cake make the cake healthy for our consumption.

Flour : This is the main ingredient of cake which gives cake the foundation or will I say the structure. Anything can be used to form cake base or main ingredient like rice, oat, flour. But in any cake preparation there must be a flour to make the cake have a structure.

Butter is also a nutritious food. It provides mainly fats, vitamin E, A,B12 and D , different minerals like calcium, iron,magnesium in very small amount.

Eggs: is part of our daily diet because it is rich in protein, minerals and vitamins which are body basic need. It improves the eyes health, immune system and heart health. Adding it to cake help to create a tender crumbs and beautiful structure.

Sugar : It helps sweetened the cake and it also add moisture to the cake. For example while mixing the butter and sugar together, as the sugar dissolved, it becomes moist. I believe you all notice that. Confidently, it plays a vital role in our cake.

Bicarbonate of soda: it acted as an agent to soften the dates so that it can easily blend into the cake mixture and also enhanced the taste of the dates and the overall taste of the cake.

Vanilla is a good agent for taste, it adds a nice flavor to cake making. Imagine consuming a cake with flavour, it would be palatable. The flavour alone complement other ingredients making our cake appealing.

Hola, es una receta muy interesante ya que no sabía que con dátiles se podía preparar una torta, sé que mi mama se los come y a ella le encanta. Cada país con su gastronomía y que agradable es conocer parte de esa gastronomía a través de estas publicaciones.
