Recipe of the Day, Week No: 56: "Anchovy curry"
Greetings to all chefs and lovers of the Steemit Iron Chef Community.
I am back again in this contest to present a delicious and special recipe. The protagonist is anchovies, cooked using coconut milk and several types of selected spices.
This dish is very suitable to be served as a side dish for main dishes such as white rice. I suggest serving this dish as your lunch menu.
Ingredients:
- 100 grams of anchovies, remove the heads and wash thoroughly.
- 225 ml coconut milk.
- 1 potato, clean and cut into several pieces.
- 1 green chili, thinly sliced.
- 1 teaspoon salt.
- 1 stalk of curry leaves.
Fine seasoning ingredients:
- 2 red chilies.
- 10 green cayenne peppers.
- 1 onion.
- 1 clove of garlic.
- A pinch of coriander seeds.
- 1 piece of turmeric and ginger.
- Sufficient vegetable oil.
Preparation steps:
- Blend all the spices using a blender.

- Prepare a frying pan.
How to make:
- Heat enough vegetable oil.
- Saute the onions.
- Add the ground spices and curry leaves.

- Add the anchovies, potatoes, and green chilies together.
- Pour in the coconut milk and add salt.
- Cook for ± 15 minutes or according to the hot temperature.
- When cooked, serve on a plate.
Tips:
- Discard the anchovy heads because they usually taste bitter.
- Do not cook for too long so that the anchovy texture is not too soft.
- Stir continuously during the cooking process so that the coconut milk does not curdle.
- Reduce the amount of cayenne pepper if you do not like spicy food.
This dish can be made in a relatively short time. So you don't need to spend a lot of time cooking. It only takes a few minutes to prepare the ingredients and a few minutes to cook. Approximately 30 minutes, the dish can be served..
