"Recipe of the Day, Week No. 48: (Mixed Veggies Pork Sauce with Sweet Potatoes)"

Steem greetings to all the amazing chefs in the Steemit Ecosystem. It was s another week for us to share the “recipe of the day” contest. Today I share another recipe which I tried for the first time.

My recipe for the day is mixed veggies, and pork sauce with boiled sweet potatoes. Follow me as I share the ingredients and steps to prepare this delicious meal.

Ingredients Used
  • Pork
    Carrots
  • Green beans
  • Green Bell pepper
  • White pepper
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Seasoning cube
  • Salt
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Njansa

For the quantity of the ingredients used, it all depends on the number of plates you intend to prepare. As for me, I prepared for 4 persons.

Steps to Prepare the Meal

I started by washing my ingredients with clean water and disinfecting with salt. There are lots of health challenges here and I needed to take precautions at all times. I washed the ingredients the first time and then rinsed the second time. Then I slice the veggies at desirable slices.

The next step was slicing the pork meat into smaller pieces. This is because I did not want to waste time cooking and more that my kids do not like chewing meat as they fear it will disturb them while eating. Cutting it into smaller slices will attract them to eat and serve me time to do other chores.

I washed the sliced meat and out into the pot, added salt and seasoning cube to taste. Then I mixed it well to be marinated before boiling it at low heat. Since I sliced it into smaller pieces, it will not take longer time to cook well.

After boiling the meat for about 5 minutes, I allowed the water to dry off the meat. Then I added a bit of vegetable oil, cut in my onions and fried together.

I chopped my veggies into desirable slices added them to the already-fried meat and continued stirring to ensure they did not burn.

I grind my garlic, njansa and white pepper using the local grinding stone. We had blackouts and I could not use the blender to grind. I added the grind spices into the already frying mixed veggies with the meat. We love it spicy and I added some hot chilli in my share because the weather is freezing these days.

I allowed it to simmer for a while and I continued stiring so that it did not get burnt. Stir for about 5 minutes and the sauce is ready to be served.

I proceeded to peel my sweet potatoes and washed them with clean water. I cut them into desirable sizes and out in the pot. I boiled at normal heat and added a bit of salt to taste.

I boiled the potatoes for about 5 minutes and it was ready to be served. I served myself a plate.

Saludos amiga está es una de las recetas que más preparo en casa no solo con la carne de cerdo sino con todas las proteínas ya que al agregarle bastante vegetales esto me produce una mayor cantidad de guisos y más suciedad, ahora no las he comido con batatas sancochadas ya que siempre las he acompañado con pan, casabe, arepa o yuca sancochada pero creo que el dulce de la batata con el toque de picante del guiso de cochino debe ser un sabor unico

I think next time I will try it with French bread. I have never eaten it with bread. The sweet potato also tasted superb, especially with the spicy touch of the pork stew making it mouth-watering 😋😋.
