"Recipe of the Day, Week No. 47: (Spiced Chicken-Vegetable with fufu )"

in Steemit Iron Cheflast month

Compliments of the season to all the amazing chefs in the Steemit ecosystem and welcome to my blog as I share my recipe of the day “spiced chicken-vegetable-fufu”. This was the meal I prepared for dinner today and it is a common meal eaten in Cameroon.

To prepare this meal, one needs to be patient because it kind of takes much time to get ready. In fact, Cameroon delicacies are time-consuming and energy-sapping. Therefore, you have to put that on your mind before venturing into cooking the meals😄.

That said, below I'm gonna share the ingredients required for the meal.

Ingredients Required
  • Chicken
  • Huckleberry
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Corn flour
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • Seasoning
  • chilli
Steps to Prepare the Meal

I started by slaughtering my chicken. I boiled water and put the chicken inside to unplug the feathers. When I finish unplugging the feathers, I warm it on the fire to ensure all the remaining feathers are completely taken off and the chicken is clean and ready to be chopped into desirable slices.

I proceeded by washing the sliced chicken, putting it in a pot and seasoned it with salt, seasoning spice, garlics and a bit of hot chilli.

I mixed the spiced chicken to ensure that the chicken is well marinated. I boiled it at
Low heat for about 15 minutes, drain it inside a colander. This is to ensure that the water will not come into the oil when frying and splashing.

I placed my frying pot with vegetable oil on the cooker to fry my spiced-boiled chicken. I did not want it to deep-fry, so after about 5 minutes it was ready and put in a colander.

I boiled my huckleberry which will be used as a vegetable. Sliced my tomatoes and fry with about of palm oil and put in my vegetables.

For the fufu, I boiled water and mixed in my corn flour and stirred until I got the desired texture and tied it into desirable sizes. I had to serve dinner which was the vegetables with spiced chicken and fufu.

It is a delicious meal and I love eating it all the time as it digests faster. I am inviting @simonnwigwe, @josepha, @max-pro and @aviral123 to share their recipes for the contest.

Hola amiga.

Raising your own chickens is not economical but you are sure of what you are eating. Most poultry farmers used chemicals to make the chicken grow faster. It was tasty and the good thing was my daughter loved it so much. My sons don't like eating meat, fish or chicken. They just hate chewing. Thank you for your support.
