The Meaning and Story Behind the Name Zulbahri

My full name is Zulbahri. The name of these 2 parts is “Zul” and “Bahri”. In Arabic “Zul” means “owner” or ”who owns” his & “Bahri” comes from Bahr that means sea. To be more literal, Zulbahri reads as owner of the sea or taken from the two quoted verses meaning “who has bounties like a bounderness of the ocean”. This name comes off strong, wide and deep—a vibe which belongs to the sea.

This name was given by my parents, especially my father. According to family stories, my father gave me this name in the hope that I would grow up to be someone who is broad-minded, calm in facing problems, and strong in principle like the ocean. My father likes names that have deep and Islamic meanings. So, the choice fell on Zulbahri—a name that is not only beautiful to pronounce, but also full of hope and meaning.

I am proud to have this name and satisfied with it personally. It is a very uncommon and characteristic name because, it is not being use by others. If I was being honest with myself then perhaps the only part of this self that would stay, is the name " Zulbahri" in full because it is so deep with meaning. I also post on Steemit as the real name I go by zulbahri, the username is based on some deep meaning in my life.

Because I want to be me on this platform, authentic and true and yes, just me. I would like to be identified with my real identity in Steemit instead of a pseudonym. Then there is me using a real name, it gives me more responsibility with every post I write and helps to Generate Reputation/Trust among the fellow users.

With the name Zulbahri, I hope to continue sharing meaningful writings and ideas, as my parents hoped when they gave me this name—that I could be like the sea: vast, deep, and full of mysteries to be explored. This name is a prayer, and I want to live my life as best I can to answer that prayer.
