Being a child again

 

Gary was now retired and had a lot of time for himself, especially after having very busy life working his life now felt quite empty and he did not know how to fill it. He then thought about his children and grandchildren. Every time when he was observing them playing he always thought about his own childhood and those moments his life had a bit of warmth and colour, he also felt that funny happy feeling in his soul. That is why Gary decided to do some changes and to fill the gap in his life that was now after retirement with time with his grandchildren.

From few of his grandchildren Sandy, the six year old granddaughter was very attached to Gary, they had the same love to different hobbies. One of Gary’s favourite hobby for Gary was to repair his old car and every time when he was repairing Sandy was there and was willing to help. She loved to learn and was good in it, she slowly knew exactly the names of different instruments and was glad to be able to impress her grandfather.

They now spent much more time together and when Sandy received a bicycle for her birthday she wanted her Grandfather to be there to help her to learn riding a bike. She had everything she needed, a helmet, protectors for knees and elbows and her Grandfather that was perfect. On the day when Gary decided to make it: to teach Sandy to learn cycling he recalled the time of himself being a child and how his father was with him, when he felt his strong hand and who was there to make sure that he does not hurt himself.

Sandy was the happiest person today and had a lot of fun, she felt that her grandfather also enjoyed it, at least the end of the day had a good result for both Sandy learned cycling and Gary was back into his childhood.
