1 Picture 1 Story Week #79
While watching movies that have to do with Kingdoms where a monarch resides. There is something that is unique about the story. This is seen in war when the king goes to war on a horse while the foot soldiers move along. This movie depicts the medieval time and early modern period. At times someone might ask a question "why can't a king remain on his throne of honor and send out his minors to war?"
The simple answer I can give is that it depicts the power, leadership and the protector of the realm in which it's his jurisdiction. This act was seen in the Roman empire and the Greek. The horse used was an epitome of true kingly spirit and aura bestowed to the king. Apart from the King, people who were opportune to use horses during battle were the nobles and knights.
The main characteristic seen was the king exercising full authority over the people who are in the save wall as his. Permit me to summarize the functions and significance of a king on a horse.
Mostly for battle modes and supremacy over there: If there are any historians in the house, you'll realize that horses are meant for war and battle modes while the donkey was used in time of peace. So, a king sitting on a horse signifies the appearance he made in a war proving his supremacy during that period.
Military strength and conquest mode: If one sees a king on a horse commanding an army, there is one thing for sure. And it's that the army possesses some form of military power because of a king. If a king is trained, then how about the soldiers? I guess they should be killing machines. In essence, the significance of a king can bring conquest to a mission or war.
All the same, I hope the historians in the house can help me tidy up some facts that I omitted.
I invite @bossj23, @pandora2010 and @mile16 to this contest.
