It is true that it is very difficult to find such friends in this world who maintain friendship without any conditions. It is our human nature that we look only for our own benefit in our friendship and even in very close relationships.

There are very few people who have a feeling of kindness, affection or dedication towards others. I also remember a small old story in which a very old friend of mine gave me a pleasant feeling and proof of being a true friend by getting me to do selfless work. It so happened that in those days I was posted in a city where I was troubled both financially and physically and that city was very far from my family's home, due to which I had to wait a very long time to meet my family.

In those days I was alone at the place of posting due to problems like my children's education and house rent etc. Then my post got vacant in a city very close to my family's city, from where I could come daily. I applied for my transfer to that place but apart from me some other people were also interested in coming there, so I was facing difficulty in getting my work done.

A local political leader asked me for some money and said that we will get you transferred, I gave him the money as per his demand, but still my work was not getting done. And I was very sad, I was getting completely disappointed and one day I was wandering here and there in despair. Then I met a very old friend of mine while coming out of a temple, with whom I had not been in touch for many years.

We both asked each other about our well being. Then he asked me what is the matter, why do you look upset. If a disappointed person gets this kind of sympathy then he immediately tells his problem. I also told him my problem. He said that you give me a copy of your application and I will get your work done. I asked him if I have to pay any money in return for this. He said no friend I will get your work done with my influence, don't worry, there is no question of money. I did not believe him immediately, because till now I had not found anyone who was ready to get my work done without spending money.

But the next week when the transfer list was released, my name was also in it and I got the posting where I wanted, I thanked my friend wholeheartedly and then asked him if he needed to give any money, but he laughed and said that friend money does not come between our friendship. If I ever need help then you can help me. And he is my friend even today and he never needed my help.
