Every person's life has some memorable moments or memorable events that change his life. That memorable event gives birth to a new chapter for us. Honorable moderator @muhammad-ahmad has opened the door for us to shed light on those memorable events. For that, thanking him once again, I am going to present my memorable event.
My story:-
I was born in a quiet village environment. I studied in a madrasa in the village. I felt more comfortable playing sports and hanging out with friends all day rather than studying. My only job was to spend the day happily without thinking. One day, spending the day with that happiness came to an end.
I was approximately 9-10 years old at that time. It was about 40 years ago from today. My uncle came to our house. He had to go to Dhaka city. his son lives abroad. He sent money from there. He had to withdraw that money. At that time, sending money from abroad was not as easy as it is today. The communication system was also not so developed.
My elder brother lived in Dhaka. That's why I went to his house with my father several times. Although I don't know the streets of Dhaka, I remember that New Market is near my elder brother's house and there is an overbridge next to the market.
My uncle came home in the morning. And I came home at 4 pm after finishing my game. When I came, I heard that my uncle will go to Dhaka city to my elder brother's house. But he didn't know my elder brother's house. I suddenly said, uncle, I know my brother's house. My uncle took my words seriously and told my father to take me to Dhaka.
My father asked me if I could go to Dhaka to see it. I was scared now. Still, I said boldly that if he took me to the New Market Bridge, I would be able to see my elder brother's house. I am not enough old that my father will agree to leave me with a man who does not know Dhaka city. Strangely enough, my mother initially objected, but eventually she agreed.
I prepared myself for the task at an hour's notice and set off with my uncle. I traveled all night in a lunch and reached Sadarghat in the morning. Then my uncle asked various people and reached in front of New Market in Dhaka. From there I reached my elder brother's house.
This is the reason for the memorable incident: -
For a village boy to travel such a distance at the age of 9-10, even though he did not know Dhaka city himself, is a memorable event in my eyes. What is even more tragic is that this hope had come to an end in my life. I could not return to the village. My elder brother did not let me return to the village. He got me admitted to a school in Dhaka.
My new life start in Dhaka
My new life began. I can still remember that in 1983, I started living permanently in Dhaka and I am still in Dhaka. If the incident of that day had not happened, I might not have come to Dhaka city. Therefore, that day's journey is the most memorable event in my life. I will never forget this incident. Although there are many memorable events in my life, this incident changed my life and created a new chapter. Therefore, I present that memorable incident in today's context.
I would like to invite three of my friends:-
