Recently, I stopped by Benu Coffee Roastery on Jalan AMD in the Batoh area of Banda Aceh. It's strategically located and easily accessible.

My first impression was immediately apparent upon entering the cafe: this is no ordinary coffee shop. The interior is well-designed, neat, elegant, yet warm. Honestly, for a local coffee shop, I personally give it five stars.

From my observations, Benu's building is a two-story shophouse. Benu itself is located between three shop doors, assuming each door measures 4x16 meters multiplied by 3. The total area is 192 square meters.

Benu has an air-conditioned living room that's very comfortable for sitting for a while, chatting, or even working. The three of us sat there.

The first room is used for brewing coffee and displaying their coffee products. This space is very representative. It resembles a bar. The kitchen is in the center. The front section is for displaying products. The back section is a VIP room with elegant decor and sofas.

Benu also has an air-conditioned living room that is very comfortable for sitting, chatting, or even working. The decor is truly beautiful. There are aesthetically pleasing corners that immediately catch the eye of anyone who enters. The walls are lined with fresh green garden walls, adorned with red and dark green ornamental plants, adding a tropical yet elegant feel. In the center, a neon sign reading "Benu Coffee Roastery" is bright but not dazzling, creating an iconic focal point and a perfect photo spot for visitors.

Just below it, dark brown leather sofas are neatly arranged, complete with decorative pillows for added comfort. This corner layout feels warm and professional, as if inviting visitors to sit for a moment, enjoy their coffee, or simply capture the moment.

The wood touches on the right side of the wall also create a warm atmosphere that contrasts yet harmonizes with the surrounding plant elements. This design combination gives the impression that Benu Coffee Roastery is not only serious about the taste of its coffee but also pays attention to detail, providing a comprehensive experience, not just an ordinary coffee shop.

The three of us sat in this room. We ordered two portions of fried tempeh. I ordered Sankis coffee, while my friend ordered Endatu coffee. This is one of Benu's signature dishes. According to my friend, the food and beverage menu is of excellent quality.

They offer a wide selection of specialty coffees, mocktails, and unique snacks. Furthermore, the service was very friendly. The waiters greeted us with smiles and extra attention.

I have a specific complaint about this place. While the decor and space are very elegant, it feels a bit cramped. There are too many sofas, making the room feel cramped, even though the air conditioning is adequate.

Fried tempeh costs Rp15,000 x 2, which is Rp30,000, or about 13 Steem. Cold Brew Sankist costs Rp30,000, or 13 Steem. Endatu Coffee costs Rp18,000, or about 8 Steem. Assuming the Steem price at the time of writing is Rp2,313 per Steem.

When I wanted to pray, a Benu employee directed me to the second floor. The prayer room was quite comfortable, as were the restrooms.

If there's one drawback, it's the parking lot, which is right on the side of the road. However, so far I haven't had any significant issues with parking.

Overall, I still recommend Benu Coffee Roastery. The place is a feast for the eyes and mind, the coffee is a treat for the palate, and the atmosphere makes anyone want to linger.
