One Picture And One Story

Rashedul Haque, a young man from a rural town in Rangpur. He was talented since childhood but his real strength was his extraordinary woodworking skills. He worked in a local furniture factory and took care of his parents and younger siblings.

One day, while finishing a big order, a problem arose in the machine. While working in a hurry, a terrible accident occurred. In a few seconds, his right wrist was cut off before his eyes. Everyone in the factory came running to his screams. After taking him to the hospital, the doctor said that it was not possible to reattach his hand.

Rashed's life seemed to be in darkness. The hand that was his means of livelihood was no more. He stayed at home for a few months, and despair began to consume him. Even his relatives turned their backs on him. But his mother did not give up. One day, his mother told him, “You are still alive, which means you can still do it.”

Rashed gained new courage from his mother’s words. He slowly learned to write with his left hand, learned to type on his mobile phone. He started learning digital graphics design by watching YouTube. He gradually started getting clients online. When his first income came to Bikash, tears came to his eyes.

Today, Rashed is not only a successful freelancer, but he runs a small institute teaching digital skills to local youth. His story is now an inspiration to many.

Rashed said, “I may not have had a hand, but my willpower was unwavering. A part of my body may have gone, but I did not lose my mind. I tell those who think nothing is possible, everything is possible if you really want it.”
