How did you celebrate the first day of Eid Al Adha 2025? (Briefly describe your day with pictures.)

I started the first day of Eid-ul-Adha at 4:30 am. I woke up early, refreshed myself, and offered Fajr prayers. After Fajr prayers, I helped my mother-in-law in the kitchen to prepare the light breakfast that would be eaten after Eid prayers. Eid is the biggest religious festival of Muslims. My family and I celebrated Eid together, just like we always do. The joy of Eid with family increases twice. After finishing the kitchen work, I bathed, wore new Eid clothes, and offered Eid prayers in congregation.

After the prayers, I sought forgiveness and blessings from the elders. Everyone greeted me as I concluded the Eid congregation. The most interesting part of Eid is the Eid salami. It is a very happy feeling to receive salami from the elders of the house and to make the younger ones happy with salami. 😍🥰

After finishing the Eid congregation, the whole family sat together and started the first day by eating a light breakfast and sweets. I celebrated the first day of my Eid al-Azha by sharing the joy of Eid with my family and relatives.

Did you offer Qurbani (sacrifice)? If yes, what animal? Don't forget to share a picture of your animal.

Alhamdulillah, I offered Qurbani. By the infinite mercy of Allah, I sacrificed a cow.

What is Qurbani?

The word Qurbani means closeness, sacrifice, and dedication. Sacrifice and dedication to gain closeness to Allah. Sacrificing a domesticated halal animal in the name of Allah to sacrifice for the sake of Allah's pleasure between the 10th and 12th of Zil Hijjah is called Qurbani. Sacrifice should be made with healthy and strong domesticated halal animals such as camels, buffaloes, cows, goats, sheep, rams, etc.

Lessons of Qurbani:

  • The purpose of Qurbani is to inspire Muslims with the glory of the flag.

  • To sacrifice our lives, property, and life and death for Allah.

  • Through Qurbani, Allah tests the piety of people. The blood and meat of the sacrificial animal do not reach Allah; only the piety and devotion of the heart do.

  • Just as there is humanity in humans, there is animality. Humanity is awakened through sacrifice by killing. If we can awaken the qualities by abandoning human greed, lust, jealousy, hatred, pride, etc., the animal sacrifice becomes worthwhile.

  • A part of the sacrifice has to be given to the poor and needy, which gives them a chance to eat a little better. It has to be given to relatives and friends, which improves the relationship between each other. Sincerity increases among all.
What are your favourite dishes to prepare and enjoy during the Eid days?

Eid for Muslims is not complete without sweet food on Eid. Special food is prepared on Eid. Among the dishes prepared during Eid were milk-soaked semai, halim, noodles, sugar-soaked budiya, etc.

I am very fond of the meat of the sacrificial animal on Eid al-Azha. After properly distributing the meat of the sacrificial animal, it was cooked for us. No other meat tastes like the meat of the sacrificial animal. Alhamdulillah, I enjoyed the meat of the sacrificial animal with my family on the day of Eid al-Adha.

How important is to distribute sacrificial meat among other people/

Distributing sacrificial meat is an important part of this religious ceremony, especially in the context of Eid al-Adha. Here is why it is significant:

In Islamic tradition, distributing meat is a way to share the blessings of the sacrifice and fulfill the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad . Sharing the meat with family, friends, and especially the poor helps to increase social cohesion and compassion. It ensures that everyone, regardless of ability, can participate in the celebration. Traditionally, the meat is divided into three equal parts: ★ One-third for the person or family offering the sacrifice. ★ One-third for relatives and friends. ★One-third for the poor and needy. Beyond the physical act, this distribution reflects the principles of generosity and humility.

Essentially, meat distribution is not just a formality - it carries deep moral and spiritual significance in strengthening community bonds and showing concern for others.

Allah has given us a beautiful and joyous Eid al-Adha with our family, for which I will always be thankful.
